Miss Anaheim Hills 2015

Missy Mendoza

Missy Mendoza is a graduate of California State University of Fullerton with a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a Master's degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.  She held the leadership positions of Spirit Chair, Public Relations Chair, Greek Week Outhouse Representative, and Executive Vice President in Alpha Delta Pi.  She also held the leadership positions of Athletics Coordinator and Administrative Director for the Titan Tusk Force program of the Associated Students Incorporated, CSUF.

Missy currently works for the City Hall of Garden Grove in the Community Relations Division where she helps manage social media, support City Council, assists with campaigns and special events, and more!

Missy has received a total of $10,467 in scholarship money within the Miss California Organization.  She held four titles within the seven years dedicated to competing and serving the different communities of California. She is using the scholarship money won by obtaining her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from National University.

In addition to her education and career, Missy has volunteered over 1,500 hours of community service towards non-profit organizations and events benefiting a variety of needs.  She volunteered for Ronald McDonald House Charities, advocates for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and was an Ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Her platform is DUI Prevention and awareness.  During her years of service she spoke to classrooms throughout the Garden Grove Unified School District, non-profit organizations, and California Universities’ Greek Life about this prominent issue, by increasing the awareness of driving under the influence, changing the attitude about people’s perspectives, and taking action if they are ever in this situation.

Missy is thrilled to give back to the organization that has shaped her into the woman she is today and looks forward to working with volunteers, contestants, political leaders, and community leaders as a volunteer.
