New Registration Procedures for MAO and MAOTeen Candidates
The Miss America Organization (MAO) has implemented new procedures for candidate registrations. For now, this is what all candidates must do. Effective Immediately 1. All candidates must register on MAO's official registration site and pay a once-per-competition season registration fee of $35. This fee is retained by MAO. A candidate isn't eligible for any local competition until she registers and pays required fees. 2. When a candidate registers and pays the $35 registration fee, her information is sent to the Miss California Organization state office. The Miss California Organization then contacts the candidate with a welcome letter that includes our Local License Area chart. The letter also includes a link to a registration site where the candidate registers for a specific local competition and pays a $75 fee. Teens are not required to pay the $75 fee, but are still required to register for a local competition and are given a waiver code in the Teen welcome letter. The entry information is then forwarded to the specific local competition that the candidate requests. Miss Candidates must pay the $75 fee for each local competition that they enter. Registrants may choose to be enrolled for access to MAO's Professional Development Series, featuring experts in social media training, public speaking, media/press training and more. They gain access to health/wellness and peak performance training, resume building, networking events, and discounts on Miss America merchandise.
MAOTeen Resume and Social Impact Instructions Are Now Available
We will hold workshops for our candidates to help them create their resumes and social impact initiatives. In the meantime, instructions are available for Teens to download and get started.
The Miss America Organization is updating the resume and social impact initiative instructions for Miss candidates. When we receive the updates, we'll make them available to our Miss candidates.
